THE TEAM
Four young women, brought together by their personal experiences in dealing with Inflammatory Bowel Disease via the internet. Talking began, and the common passions of music and finding a cure for IBD naturally led in the direction of a charity concert series.

In late 2006, the brainchild of Ashley Devine, Jade Squire, Jeni Maize and Misty Devine; GutRock was born.

GutRock is a concert series focussed on increasing awareness of IBD, connecting IBD sufferers with one another, and of course raising funds to aid in research for the cure. The GutRock Concert Series donates 100% of profits to fund IBD research.

Kicking off in March of 2007, the first two shows of the series were both screaming successes. GutRock Acoustic Kitchener-Waterloo 2007 showcased the talents of Sean Stokholm, Jonathan Convoy, Jeff Redinger, littleSUNDAY, Mandippal Jandu, Simple Mission, and Billy the Kid, at Kitchener's The Boathouse. GutRock KW donated $600 to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada. GutRock London 2007 showcased the talents of Terminal Wallys, The Shanks, Tacoma Redd, The Brown Hornets, Romeo Liquor Store, and The Populars, at London's Call The Office. GutRock London donated $1000 to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada.

In the summer of 2007, GutRock co-founder Jeni Maize joined forces with Ian Starkey of The Shanks to create THE WONDERCLOCK. Taking place in Orangeville, THE WONDERCLOCK is a 24 hour music festival that donated $900 to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada. THE WONDERCLOCK compilation CD will be released early in the new year.

Currently shows are in the plans for Kitchener-Waterloo, London, and Orangeville for 2008. However the GutRock team is definitely looking to expand to more cities around Ontario, and eventually all of Canada, as soon as it becomes possible!
